3D To The Max (2)

It would take more space that we have to describe in detail how all these varying softwares work but let's take Pulse Entertainment's technologies as an example:

Are You Game?
Until recently, interactive 3D entertainment on the Internet left a lot to be desired. The graphics quality and user interaction of online offerings paled in comparison to the 3D entertainment available in arcades and movie theaters. San Francisco-based Pulse Entertainment saw the shortcomings of Web-based 3D entertainment as an opportunity, and the company set out to develop tools for delivering rich media - including 3D animations - on the Internet. Pulse built on its foundation as a producer of leading 3D games - including "Iron Helix," one of the first CD-ROM titles to introduce a game scenario set within a 3D environment - and since has dedicated its developers to applying this expertise to Internet entertainment usind 3D Studio MAX.

Commer-tainment
These days, Pulse focuses on producing new forms of interactive animation and programming that leverages traditional broadcast and film content. Pulse foresaw that the full potential of true, interactive 3D animation could be achieved through the same venue used to promote traditional entertainment: advertising. As ad vehicles, Internet-driven fun provides episodic entertainment that can be closely aligned to broadcast productions and creative assets.

Pulse already had the expertise and Web authoring technology to deliver high-quality animation to Internet audiences. The firm developed the Pulse Creator authoring system for animating computer generated images. Its free Pulse Player browser plug-in allows users to play back interactive 3D content over a 28.8k connection with a minimum of delays or bandwidth problems. What it needed was the core 3D modeling and animation tools that would best complement its playback and interactive technology to deliver compelling Web entertainment with broadcast-quality content.

Digging to the Core
For that they turned to 3D Studio MAX, designed for Microsoft Windows NT systems. Using a 3D Studio MAX translator developed by Pulse, developers can import models and animations designed in 3D Studio MAX into the Pulse Creator authoring system, which converts them into Internet-ready content.
