Features of Flash as opposed to HTML printing

Why use Flash in the first place? HTML printing works fine...
Well, i've tried to sum up some pro's and cons of each.

Flash printing:
+ Complete control over layout
+ High quality output of vector artwork (not only text as with HTML)
+ Custom print buttons
+ You control what the user can print
+ Create a print button on a banner ad, that will print several entire pages - not only the active page.
% The browser print button won't use the new print feature
% The new plugin (4.0.2 or greater) is required to use the print feature

HTML printing:
+ Compatability - all can print it.
+ Speed
+ Browser print button works
% White on black printing doesn't work - background is removed
% Differing quality
% Little layout control
% URL and date always present on printouts

Hopefully the simplified summup above will give you an overview of what the benefits are. It is a problem that the new plugin is required, but the benefits are excellent. Just imagine an animated Flash banner, ending with a print button that will print the entire order form!
