Downloading
Flash 4
Fortunately, the installation process for Flash 4 is very harmless
and fast. Using the Publish Setting called "Flash Only
(default)", the user's browser will automatically act as
mentioned below:
Internet
Explorer 3 or above downloads automatically, and asks permission
before installing. Usually, you have to restart the browser.
Netscape
4 or above downloads automatically, and displays a popup
window that is slighly different from that of Internet Explorer,
but basically does the same. Netscape always needs to be restarted.
Other
browsers, like Netscape 3, display an empty screen, and
maybe a plugin icon in the middle. If you click this icon, you
will automatically go to the Macromedia Shockwave Download Center,
which is very user friendly.
The
last resort is creating a "Get Shockwave" button,
linking directly to the download center. This button should
link to
http://www.macromedia.com/
[cc] shockwave/download/index.cgi?
[cc] P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
...and look like this:

Choose
the one you like. They are all free.
Good
luck!
