Flash Text Effects with Mix-FXby Nathan Segal September 20, 2001
Looking for a way to create animated text effects without having to learn Flash? Then take a look at Mix-FX, created by Triple W Communications. Mix-FX is designed to be simple to use, even for those with no Flash knowledge or design skills. According to company literature, you can create effects in minutes, using a combination of text and backgrounds. Other features of Mix-FX are low file sizes, files that can be used in Flash 4 or 5, in any HTML editor, PowerPoint, video editing software or even in professional broadcasting. Finally, Mix-FX is inexpensive, retailing for $20.00 and offers unlimited support.
To see Mix-FX in action, visit the Samples page, which features over a dozen different effects using both Flash 4 and 5 (you must have both the Flash 4 and 5 player installed). To get a feeling for Mix-FX, I posed several questions to Menno Berndsen, Creative Director for Triple W Communications, who explained how Mix-FX came into being. He said: We decided to create Mix-FX when we realized that Flash was very intimidating to a lot of designers and webmasters. While many people wanted animations on their websites, many werent familiar with Flash and in some cases, they didn't have time or money to invest in the software. We felt there was a niche for an easy to use Flash text effect creator that allowed virtually anyone the ability to create Flash text and background animations for their multimedia presentations and websites.
